PICS - PFE Integrity Checking System

Where indoc.s brings a powerful, yet user-friendly approach to the preparation of documents for mailing, PiCS takes over after the job has been completed. Whilst the comprehensive reporting features of the imos software on the Automailer 5 or Maximailer Plus give detailed information on all the activities of the system, PiCS allows the user to extract this information and report on important exceptions.

Like indoc.s, it can be used in a simple form, or for more detailed analysis. Once imos has tracked each document through its data logging system for Barcode, Data Matrix or OCR reading, PiCS allows the user to produce standard reports. For example, documents that have not reached the output of the inserter, and identify the reasons such as oversize groups, bad reads, or operator interventions. All of this means that in many cases, expensive output camera systems are not required as the full history of every document is tracked. However, for those who wish to maintain this level of checking PiCS assists further by comparing its record directly with those of the camera and reporting on any differences.

Any documents that are not inserted by the system can be logged as hand-mailed in PiCS, giving a complete record of their progress through the mailroom. This new record can then be compared to an original print-file report to ensure that all printed documents have passed through the system, and to regenerate any missing documents.

PiCS even allows for diversion of documents after the documents have been printed, by telling the inserter to divert them rather than inserting. On top of all these standard features, it contains a very powerful Report Generator, which can be used to create regular productivity reports, or ad-hoc searches for specific items or criteria.

With these two products, PFE is further closing the loop between production of documents and the postbag, with powerful, user-friendly and cost-effective packages.
